L O C A L news & stuff,.. mostly stuff.
--------------------------
It hardly seems possible that it has already been 4 years since Gene
Fayette sat at our dinning room table discussing a fund raising program
to purchase a mat and other incidental items to get Graftons first
wrestling program established.
Thru the significant efforts of Gene, and others, the wrestling
program has come to fruition. Like all fledgling programs, sufficient
funding for, and duly deserved recognition of, such projects are
difficult to achieve at best. The wrestling group is hoping that this
Saturday mornings breakfast fundraising event will help them in both
areas. I hope you will set aside time this Saturday to enjoy a breakfast
and help the wrestlers at the same time.
It sounds like a super breakfast to help fund Graftons newest youth
athletic endeavors.
Rob Parsons asked if I would share the following message. Please find
below my answer.

Hi Gary,
I was hoping you could share this with the readers. The Grafton
Wrestling program is having a Sausage, Egg and Pancake Breakfast
fundraiser this Saturday, January 10, 2009, in the Century Elementary
Lunchroom. The event takes place from 7am-10am and the cost is $5 for
adults and $3 for school age children. Preschool and under are
free. This is the Wrestling programs 4th year and the athletes and
coaches have put in a lot of hard work over the past 4 years to develop
the program. There are a lot of outstanding young wrestlers on our
team and work hard to represent our community positively. It is hoped
the community will support the wrestling program by coming out for a
great pancake breakfast Saturday morning. Additionally, community
members can cheer on some of our local JV wrestlers at the JV tournament
that will be held in the HS Gym following the pancake breakfast. <<<<
Thanks a million Rob, for your efforts in helping the youth of our
community learn the physical and mental communication skills that will
make them better citizens. I'm guessing that those unable to attend the
breakfast could still participate in the advancement of the wrestling
program by simple sending a check - payable to the wrestling program -
and nobody would even have to wash the dishes. Or so it seems to me.

Sometimes I receive "stuff" that simply does not need introduction or
comment. Don Johnson sent me such a message. It read >>>> "Observes
a perceptive author of a letter to the editor of the New York Times:
'It's amusing that Andrew M. Cuomo, who owes his whole career to his
dad, may not get the Senate seat of Hillary Rodham Clinton (who owes her
whole career to her husband) because David A. Paterson (who owes his
whole career to his dad) may give it to Caroline Kennedy (who owes her
whole career to her dad). You would think a state as large as New York
could find someone who deserves something on his or her own."

<<<< Thanks a million for caring and sharing Don.
