December 3, 2007 - Monday

Today's Gazette is being brought to you, in part, by Grafton Municipal
Utilities. They are some of the folks that make Grafton such a wonderful
town to live in.
----------------------
The current temperature is 6 degrees
Yesterdays H/L temperature was 13/-13
Normal H/L temp for this date is 25/8
Another winter storm is in our forecast for tonight and tomorrow. 3 to
5 inches of toboggan mud is possible

L O C A L news & stuff,.. mostly stuff.
----------------------
The cost to fill the snowblower with gas has dropped to $3.00 +/-.
The first significant snowfall of the season started here around noon
Saturday. By late evening we had 6 or 7 inches of snowman parts laying
all over town. GMU crews started plowing streets shortly after midnight
and by early sunday they had removed most of the snowcat dust from all
of Graftons business district and all city streets were plowed. It
sounds like they can expect to do much the same again after tonight.
As usual, vehicles parked on the streets hampered the snow removal
crews ability to do accomplish their task efficiently and, of course
some sections couldn't be plowed at all, because of those vehicles.

I sure hope someone can help Susie.

>>> Maybe you can help us locate the family/company in the NE part of
ND who make the large Christmas yard ornaments that we have at Metigoshe
Ministries. We have 4 angels around 5 feet tall that we have had
for about 12 years and now they are starting to not light anymore.
These were ordered through a Pride of Dakota display in Minot and we
would like to order more. So if you know who this family/company
might be, could you let me know? Thank you!!!
Richard and I live just west of the Turtle Mountains. This past
Tuesday and Thursday early mornings, the temp dropped to a chilly -20
and Friday was at -18. Seems a bit early to have temps that
low...I hope it isn't a sign of what is yet to come for this winter!
Thank you...
Susie Anderson <<<<>>> Hi Gary,
This is a British woman teaching in Sudan. It was not for giving the
children a teddy bear that got her in trouble. It was for naming the
teddy bear 'Mohammed', which the muslims in Sudan saw as an insult to
Islam.
And you are partly right on the quote: Although the quote is from the
Bible: Matthew 5:38 (King James Version) "Ye have heard that it hath
been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth." Everything in
the Bible took place in the Middle East...which is now Iraq, Saudi
Arabia, Jordan etc etc etc. <<<<>>> Gary,
I would like to get on your mailing list if possible. Living in
California it is nice to read up on the events back home. As I have read
some of your work and see the familiar names it brings back great
memories of Grafton and the community.
Thank you, Chris McCarty <<< Thanks a million for caring and
sharing Chris. Your message hits the nail right on the head. It is in
fact the exchange of familiar names, places and things that makes a
compendium of babble such as the Gazette work. Welcome to the Gazette
family Chris. I hope from time to time you can find cause to share a
part of your world with us.
++++
Thanks for your note and kind words Millicent. I hope I have your new
address correct.
