====== M I S S I O N ======
The mission of Unity Medical Center is serving Grafton and its
surrounding area with a dedicated and caring staff, promoting healthcare
for the community, and serving it's needs through all stages of life.

All the folks at the Walsh County Record are to be commended for their
efforts this week in recognizing the accomplishments of our areas youth.
This weeks edition of the Record will certainly make a worthwhile
keepsake and remembrance for future generations to read and appreciate.

Much of the snow in town is giving way to bare pavement, brown grass,
pop, beer cans and enough water bottles to fill the Riverside Swimming
Pool in Grand Forks.
I'm not sure if we were gone last winter, or, if I just didn't pay
close enough attention. However, I certainly do not remember the snow
storm that dropped all the trash I see,.. as the snow melts.
I did take a quick drive over the Park River north of town Thursday
afternoon. So far, the river appears to be almost the same level as it
has been all winter.

The "old" American Legion Club facilities south of the Post Office on
Griggs Avenue was a destination facilities for a number of reasons. I'm
sure, even though that building was a reasonably good sized one. The
memories created there would more than fill it from floor to ceiling.
Like the memories it brings back for Al Berry
He wrote. >>>
Hi Gary,
The mention of the old Legion club brings back memories of my
Grandma, Cecilia Sass who also worked there for a number of years, most
of them before I was ever around. When I was growing up, Grandma was
very close friends with Gladys, Sarah, and Dorothy and I remember when
those girls would get together and laugh and visit and reminisce about
old times and talk about the good times they had at the Legion. I
remember overhearing a few of their visits and thinking that it must
have been an awfully fun place to work. I still run into Sarah every now
and then, and she looks as young as ever and always reminds me of how
she worked with my Grandma at the Legion. Anyway, thanks for the great
work Gary, keep it up.
Sincerely,
Al Berry <<<<
Thanks a million for caring and sharing Al. I have always found the
"old" Legion building somewhat unique in that it actually didn't have a
"ground level" floor. You either had to go down stairs to the restaurant
and bar, or, you had to go upstairs to Dance and partake in the juice
that can make folks do silly things.
