L O C A L news & stuff,.. mostly stuff.
-------------------------
Tuesdays Shivercity weather was nothing short of fantastic. Sunshine
clear skies and water running down the street with temperatures several
degrees above average is a sure sign spring is just around the corner.
City crews thawing frozen storm drains are an even better sign we should
get ready for robins and apple blossoms.

Promotions,..... doing something that gives residents reason to feel
like they belong to a living breathing community. Grafton Local Area
Radio stations is doing just that. For their efforts I extend my sincere
thanks and appreciation. The following note makes evident I'm not the
only one sharing that feeling. >>>>
Gary -
I was lucky enough to be one of the people on the KXPO Mystery Tour
Bus last weekend. I just wanted to thank KXPO, and specifically Andrea
and Ryan for such a wonderful, fun filled trip. I was taken by a friend
of mine who won tickets and we had an absolute blast. From the comedy
club to the winery we just had an excellent trip. I wanted to take this
time to let KXPO know how much I appreciate the time it took to plan
such a trip and all of the small details that were put into the
planning. From start to finish, we had a GREAT time! Thank you!

We do wish the boys basketball team the best of luck and for those
not able to go to Fargo to support them -- we invite everybody to come
to the Figure Skating Show! Despite the conflict with activities, the
show must go on. We have approx. 100 skaters who have worked all winter

areas young skaters certainly deserve equal time and appreciation for
their many hours of hard work to perfect their skills.

Speaking of ice, and things we do on it. Kristy Stenso shared the
following.
Speaking of curling, Grafton is hosting the state high school speil
this weekend, there are 12 boys teams and 6 girls teams
participating. If anyone wants to come down and enjoy some good
curling, this would be a great weekend for it. Grafton has, I think
3 teams maybe even more, entered.......Have a great day, and thanks for
all you do!
Kristy <<< Thanks a million for caring and sharing Kristy. Who knows,
some of these folks may well end up curling in a future World Curling
Championship like that being held at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand
Forks this April 5th thru 13th.

The Simonsons Gas Station and Convenience Store is installing a
impressive new Digital Marquee. I suspect in preparation for their plan
to redesign the entire northeast corner of the intersection of Hill
Avenue and hiway 17.
Rumor has it, they (Simonsons) also would like to close the alley
between their two businesses. It certainly is an interesting thought.
One that should be given a significant amount of consideration, and
research, before "giving away" the southern access to the rear of the
rest of the property in that block. Or so it seems to me.

Deb sent the following route the Boys Basketball team will use on the
way to the State Basketball Tournament.
Subject: Boys Basketball Send Off
There will be a police escort out of town Thursday morning. The bus
will leave the high school at 10:45am proceed east around the Centennial
Center and then west down 15th street in front of the elementary school
to pass by the cheering crowd of K-4 graders.
Then North down school road and East on Hwy 17 to McHugh Ave.
North on McHugh to 8th Street. East on 8th street to Griggs then
North again on Griggs to pass by the cheering crowd of 5-8 graders in
the former Central School.
Continue North on Griggs to 5th St., turn East on 5th and then South
on Hill Ave. (Main street) to pass by all the cheering merchants and
crowds that will be lining Hill Ave. to Hwy 17 and then proceed East
out of town.
Please pass this on to anyone who might be interested in making this
a grand send off for our team!!! <<<< Thanks a million for caring and
sharing Deb. Lets hope every business establishment in town displays
their support with signs and all the "Maroon and Gold" they can muster.
