April 16, 2007 - Monday - Grafton, ND

Todays Gazette is brought to you From The Sidelines, by Ted Albasini.
-----------------------
The current temperature is 58 degrees.
Yesterdays H/L temperature was 56/27
Normal H/L temp for this date is 53/31
There must be something to this global warming thing. It is definitely
warmer this week than it was last week.

and, unfortunately, so did Don Imus
==================================
L O C A L news & stuff,.. mostly stuff.
------------------------
You may have noticed that the normal H/L temperature for this date is
53/31. When the normal low temperature reaches 32 degrees, the
Shivercity Gazette will be put on the shelf and the Skeeterville Gazette
will take over.
It's the time of the year when we set aside the time of year for frost
bite and replace it with Skeeter bites.
------------------------
Don Imus is living proof, you can get kicked off the air for using
words with less than four letters,..... too.
------------------------
If you should happen to stop by Rogers Corner Cut Barber Shop (formerly
Wollitz) next door to the vacant lot once occupied by Reds News and
Sports, and, you find yourself a tad short of the price of a hair cut.
All you need do is run across the street to the 'loan until pay day'
business setting up shop in the former North Western Bell Building.
-------------------------
I heard a rumor Saturday morning that our newest liquor establishment,
the Last Chance Saloon & Grill, has engaged the services of a bouncer.
I'm not exactly sure what the duties of a bouncer might be, although I'm
pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with basketballs. I guess our
little city really is growing.
--------------------------
The Storage Pro's have certainly surrounded the former Robertson's
Lumber Company property on the corner of 5th and Wakeman. The new
rental storage facility offers a variety of storage sizes and, for
improved security, the entire area offers adequate lighting as well.
--------------------------
My sincere thanks goes out to Norman Russum and Mike Such for joining
the 2007 annual Grafton area Volunteer firefighters calendar drawing
event. Your contributions will help our firefighters be all they can be.
I am especially proud of the part many of our Gazette family members
have taken in numerous benefits throughout the year. I am impressed with
the multitude of ideas, reasons, excuses they have developed to donate
in the name of helping those in need.
From those giving their time, energy and money to help area youth
suffering serious trauma from accidents, and the talented folks
responsible for setting up fund raisers for those less fortunate than
others.
Although I'm reasonably sure the letter I am about to share, wasn't
intended to go into several thousand households. It was sent to me as a
means of caring and sharing. In it, I found a myriad of inferences that
many, not knowing the author, might not see.
I felt a love and compassion for people, that I'm certain, was learned
at home in his youth. As I read the letter I could feel the emotion in
the writers lines.
His letter made me feel extraordinarily wonderful. Dan wrote. >>>
SUBJECT: Fund Raiser
Gary, I enjoy reading the Gazette and also helping out the community
that I lived in for 19 years. I still call Grafton home even though I
have lived in Colorado for 32 years now. If you would please sell me a
baseball and firefighters booklet and put my nephew Zach Dusek's name on
them, I would appreciate it.
The snow keeps coming here in Denver, last week we received about 4
inches of the white stuff and are suppose to receive another 5 inches on
Thursday night, it is a place to live where you mow the yard one day and
shovel the walks the next day.
Thanks again for all of your data
Dan Molde <<< Thanks a million for caring and sharing Dan. As per
your request, Zach has been entered into this years Firefighter Calendar
Draw event and the Grafton Baseball Annual Calendar Draw as well.
------------------------

GOTTA - GO - WORK - ON - MY - DASH
==================================
The Gazette works best, when the folks that read it, write it. Or so it
seems to me.

Write if you can, call if you can't, and, tell your loved ones they are,
before it's too late.
