L O C A L news & stuff,.. mostly stuff.

Obviously, yesterday wasn't a great day for selling a bright red Arctic
Cat ATV 4-wheeler with automatic transmission either. Someone told me
the night I won it, that it would sell quicker than a kid could lick a
runny nose on a cold winter day.
-----------------------
Loren Lundberg shared the following comments. Gary:
It seems to me that your older brother NEEDS your Arctic Cat;
he has a motorcycle to crash on warm weather days, but on nasty weather
days in CA, it would be nice to have a Arctic Cat ATV
4-wheeler.....Thank Goodness that he was a MUCH better driver in 1960 in
the Turboglide Terror.....why do you suppose your dad never answered
when we asked "How do you like your new Chevy?". In my case, I always
thought that I got a "Harumph" because I had been with Dave since
kindergarten..... good old seniority points.... LL <<< Thanks a million
for the sales pitch Loren. The thing I remember best about the 60
turboglide was,.... we didn't have it very long. I remember trying it
out "between the tracks" one time and we almost had to rewind the stop
watch half way through. A significant difference from the 57 pontiac
4-door hard top of a few years earlier.

Alice sent the following note, and, a promise of sorts. She wrote, >>>
Hi Gary... the Gazette is coming in loud and clear. Thanks for
writing it and keeping us "outlanders" in touch with Grafton's
latest. Someday I'm going to send you a Grafton story that I've told
to friends over and over to illustrate what home towns are really
about. It's somethingthat happened when we celebrated ND's
centennial in 1987 and it's one of those things that couldn't have
happened anywhere else in the whole world. Any plans for a 125th
event this summer? Thanks again...Alice H. <<< Thanks a million for
caring and sharing Alice. We will look forward to your story. I
understand there are several groups working on preparations for the 125
year celebration.

~~~ MINTO - SPAGHETTI - FEED ~~~
If your not doing anything this coming Saturday, April 14. Please
consider going over to the Minto Fire and Rescue Squad's annual
spaghetti feed fundraiser.
The time is 4 to 7:30 at the Minto Fire Hall. A FREE WILL OFFERING
will be taken.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if a large contingent from Grafton's business
community could stop by and help "our" neighbors to the south? Besides,
the last time the Minto Fire Department sent men and equipment to help
out during a Grafton fire,... won't be the last time.
When you give, imagine that the fire alarm has just gone off,..... and
the fire is at your house.
Thursday is the day John Tweten will celebrate the anniversary of his
birth. I could be wrong, but as I understand it, when John was born and
the doctor slapped his rosie little behind, Olive was heard saying,
"give him a couple extra Doc, he looks like he's going to be a little
devil to take care of." I guess there is something to that, Mothers
intuition thing, after all. Right John?
Congratulations and Happy Birthday John. Wanna buy a 4-wheeler for your
birthday?
------------------------
I would like to thank Frances Ensminger on behalf of The Grafton area
Volunteer Firefighters for helping them be all that they can be.
++++
My sincere thanks also goes out to Drayton's Derek Bratlie for helping
our Legionaires help our areas Baseball program.
