November 8, 2006 - Wednesday

Todays Gazette is being brought to you, in part, by Home Gas Company.
"You ain't had gas, til you've had gas at Home."
---------------------
The current temperature is 44 degrees.
Yesterdays H/L temperature was 44/35
Normal H/L temp for this date is 39/21
It's that time of the year when we can have all four seasons of
weather,... all in the same day.
==================================
"Profanity makes ignorance audible."
==================================
L O C A L news & stuff,.. mostly stuff.
----------------------
With Warm temperature and yesterdays rain has all but eliminated any
signs of snow in the area. As a matter of fact, there's more white in my
mustache than my front lawn.
----------------------
Well,.. It's all over,.. the election that is,.. all over but the
recounting that is, and, I'll bet I'm not the only one really happy
about that. As usual, some are pleased with the election results, then
again, some can't understand why their "preference" didn't make it. And,
if things go as normal, those that didn't even vote at all, will be
running around telling everyone they told them so. Or, so it seems to
me.
For now let it suffice to say. "I truely hope the winners actually
accomplish everything they promised,.... and, that the losers learn from
the winners of that process.
------------------------
I was pleased the city sales tax increase was approved, at least I
think it was. I will be looking for signs benefit from that increase
over the course of the coming year. It should be fair, and reasonable,
to expect the folks in charge of those dollars will keep "us" informed
on the benefits we gain from the increase. As a matter of fact, maybe a
regular, state of the city, report wouldn't be a bad idea anyway.
-------------------------
If Grafton is going to grow, it must be cultivated and nurtured. It
will require energetic individuals capable of getting their
entrepreneurial juices flowing.
Like the following project, for instance.
== Introducing The Sheraton Condos ==
Convenient @ Luxurious @ Affordable
At Sheraton Condos you'll find convenience, luxury and minimal upkeep
at a price you can afford. To be built by local contractors and
suppliers.
* Choice location * Modern appliances

* Total carpet * 1¾ Baths

If anyone would like more information on the Sheraton Condos. Simply
send your name and address (in a self address, stamped envelop - I added
that part) to Johnson Real Estate Co. Grafton, N. D. Or, talk to Howard
or Doug Johnson. Or, Harvey Tallackson or Marcia Gillespie.
Oops,... did I mention the previous information was taken from the
Thursday, July 24, 1986 edition of the Walsh County Record? No matter,
If it was a good idea then, it must be a great idea now. Especially the
priced under $55,000 dollar part.
-------------------------
Speaking of things going on around town. My friend Christopher Larson
sent the following "reminder". >>>
Grafton High School Far-Off Broadway proudly presents "Hello, Dolly!"
November 16th, 17th, and 18th. Performances will be at 7:30pm all three
nights. Tickets are available NOW by calling 352-0018! You can also get
your tickets at the door. Ticket prices are: $6 for adults and $5 for
students and senior citizens. The performances will be held at Central
Middle School, 725 Griggs Avenue. <<< Thanks a million for caring and
sharing Chris. I have always said, "folks can't go, If folks don't
know,". I guess the folks that read this, can't use that excuse,... now.
-----------------------
I received a "riddle" from John & Debbie yesterday. So far, I haven't
been able to figure it out. As soon as I do,... I'll share it with
everyone,.... maybe.

~~~~~~ REMEMBER ~~~~~~
EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY;
OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER FOR A REASON.
One of the best things to hold onto in this world is a friend.
==================================
GOTTA GO WORK ON MY DASH
==================================
The Gazette works best, when the folks that read it, write it. Or so it
seems to me.
Write if you can, call if you can't, and, tell your loved ones they are,
before it's too late.
