The current temperature is 37 degrees.

Normal H/L temp for this date is 35/19
It isn't always this cold this time of the year. On this date in 1960
it was 60°

L O C A L news & stuff,.. mostly stuff.

Some folks have already started putting up a few holiday decorations in
Leistikow Park. If the red ribbons, throughout the park, are any
indication it looks like we can expect to enjoy a pleasant drive thru
Grafton's Leistikow Park again this year.

A roomer,.. is the person who spreads rumors about the roomer across
the hall doing "unmentionable" things with the roomer down the hall on
the way up the stairs to the laundry room.
Or, so it seems to me.

Who said you can't take it with you. Frank Sinatra did. He was buried
with a bottle of Jack Daniels. His daughter Nancy sent it along with
him.

Tuesday, the 14th of November is the third birthday of Jade and Ty
Moe. Denise and Brads energetic twins. Everyone that could, attended a
birthday party in their honor this past Sunday. I must admit, I thank
the Lord each time I attend such a wonderful family function. To be able
to watch my loved ones grow, is truely a gift from God.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jade & Tyler from your Grandma and Grandpa we love you
both very much.

I am also pleased to pass on the following, from my cousin Mark. >>>
Hi Gary!
Thank you for keeping all of your family, both blood and internet,
informed of all the happenings of Grafton - you really provide a great
service! I would appreciate it if you could mention the birthdays of two
very special people - my mother Alice (11/14) and my father Dan (11/19)
Lessard. And, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Mark Lessard <<< Thanks
a million for caring and sharing Mark. I too want to wish my aunt Alice
a happy birthday. Along with being my uncle, Dan and I also share
another parity in life. Although my Parkinsons is not nearly as advanced
as his, I certainly can, and do understand the challenges he faces every
day. Happy birthday uncle Danny from Patti and Gary

Marjie sent the following. >>> Hi Gary.
A little late for the elections but maybe something the newly
elected officials might try to remember:
"A politician thinks of the next election; a statesman thinks of the
next generation."
James Freeman Clarke, (1810-1888), Unitarian minister, social
reformer, popular author.
I'll be away next week so I'll take this opportunity to wish you,
your family and all the Gazette readers a very happy
Thanksgiving. May you all have many blessings to be thankful for.
Marjie <<< Thanks a million for caring and sharing Marjie. I would
like to wish you and yours, from me and mine, the best possible
Thanksgiving. James Freeman Clarke was right. What this country really
needs, is more statesman.
Or so it seems to me.

I thought I should send out this "reminder" once more. After all, it
is for family. >>>>
To let people know of a fun night we have planned at B & D Flooring
and Carpet Cleaning. Next Thursday, 16th at 6:30pm at the store on the
corner of 5th and Griggs. We are offering a "FREE" faux painting class.
Our focus that night will be on "Kid's Rooms". We will be showing
chalkboard paint, glow in the dark paint, glitter paint, as well as
painting techniques. The last class focused on 3 general faux painting
techniques. The turn out was great! We had a lot of fun and the ladies
got to try it out before doing it at home. (Men are also welcome, it
just happened to be all ladies then). So, if your interested, stop in
and check it out. If you have any questions, you can call the store
352-0092. Hope to see you there! Brad and Denise Moe, B & D Flooring and
Carpet Cleaning. <<< Gosh I'm proud of my youngest son Brad and his
lovely wife Denise.

It's been awhile since the first snowbirds "left the nest". I am
pleased to share the first "arrived safe and sound note from Vic and
Dorothy. They wrote: >>>
We are still alive and well and still enjoying the Gazette. Vic
misses the afternoon coffee bunch but not the cold weather. The
weather has been above normal but really nice. This week we have
welcome back week and all the activities are getting started. Say hi
to everyone. Our Monday morning Walsh County breakfasts at Little
Mesa Cafe have also started again. See you in April. Vic & Dorothy
Johnson <<< Thanks a million for caring and sharing. Say Hi to "uncle"
Norman Russum for me, if you should see him at a Little Cafe in Mesa.

The Gazette works best, when the folks that read it, write it. Or so it
seems to me.

Write if you can, call if you can't, and, tell your loved ones they are,
before it's too late.

Gary,
My name is Joyce Staskivige and I live in Wenatchee, WA. I am Harley Kingsbury's youngest daughter. My husband is Leo Staskivige, son of Alex Staskivige who lived for years across 5th Street from the "big" Lutheran Church. Our daughter discovered your blog and told me about it. I am thoroughly enjoying it. It is a great way to keep up with knowing what is going on with so many Graftonites. Will continue reading it all the time. Thanks for all you do to keep us informed!
