Rumors are those crazy little creatures that inhabit the cracks and
crannies of most Caffeine Distribution Centers around the country.
Rumors can also be heard around card tables, in the doctors office and,
I suspect, since the invention of the telephone, it too, has become one
of the major sources for distributing stories that may, or may not, be
factual.
Fortunately, many rumors actually do, in fact, become reality.
Unfortunately, some rumors fail the sniff test as well. Such is the case
with the rumor that Embroidery Plus would have someone new running their
backroom sewing machine.
I can be reasonably assured Embroidery Plus won't be switching anything
anytime soon because Denise shared the following note. >>>> WHOA!!!
The rumor part about Embroidery Plus is definitely completely
one-hundred percent wrong. I'm not going anywhere. We thoroughly
enjoy our business; it is growing at the pace we want, and we have no
immediate plans to change anything except bring more business into
Grafton and potentially expand.

Thanks a million for caring and sharing Denise. AND, thanks a million
for all the super services you provide our community and the entire
area. Every business, in every community, should enjoy the energy and
effort you put into Embroidery Plus.

Speaking about businesses with energy and effort. Grafton's Radio
Station KXPO is celebrating it's 50th anniversary. Our radio station has
always been a significant benefit to Grafton and it's entire broadcast
area. That being said, I must hasten to add that KXPO, in recent months,
has (in my opinion) significantly improved it's value to their broadcast
area.
When KXPO radio says they believe "we" would all be better off shopping
at home. They truly mean it. And when they say shop at home, they're not
suggesting that Park River folks come to Grafton and shop. Nor are they
suggesting that the folks in Drayton should shop in Cavalier, or any
other such configuration.
KXPO spends alot of time (air) and energy trying to convince all of us,
"to Simply Shop at Home". They are, for instance, suggesting I shop in
my hometown, and, that you shop in yours.
It's a relatively simple idea that can, and will, provide exceptional
returns. (It has been written; The Lord helps them, that help
themselves) KXPO's theory, I think, is that "communities will help
those, that help their communities." (I certainly agree)
This Saturday, April 19th 2008, KXPO 1340 / KAUJ 101 Radio Station,
along with Graftons Country Smokehouse and more than 50 other area
businesses will participate in the "Taste of Home Cooking School. The
gigantic event will be held at the Grafton High School/Elementary School
Combined Building in the southwest corner of Grafton.
The Exhibitor Fair doors will be open 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm AND the
Cooking School will begin at 5:00 pm.
Pre-show tickets can be obtained from the Radio station, Country
Smokehouse, B & D Flooring, Grafton Floral and Greenhouse, Hansons Auto
& Implement of Grafton and Cavalier and Waynes Heating & Cooling for
$7.00 or they can be purchased at the door for $10.00.
It will definitely be a fantastic event.

It seems conflicts, of one kind or another, have become a way of life.
Plan an event or gathering and just as sure as God made babies poop
yellow, another event will be scheduled the very same day.
It's Murphy's law at it's best. Anyway, Christl wanted to share the
following. >>>
Gary, It is unfortunate that next Tuesday night (April, 22nd)
holds two very worthwhile charitable events, Unity Medical Center
Foundation 18th annual spring banquet and the Teen Challenge banquet. I
know the good people of Grafton will do their best to come out and
support both events. Unity's banquet will be held at St. John's parish
center beginning at 6:30pm. Advanced tickets are available by calling
352-9372 or stop by the hospital front desk. A delicious meal, prepared
and served by St. John's parishioners, along with entertainment by the
North Valley Community Men's Choir will make for an enjoyable evening.

Today is the day Robert W. (Bob) Levos will celebrate the anniversary
of his birth. Many of you already know Bob, worked his way up the
American Crystal Sugar Company ladder from Storeroom floorman to Vice
President of Agriculture. Those that didn't know that, do now. Many of
you already know that Bob was always considered to be a very big man, in
the sugar business. Of course, being several inches over 6 feet tall
helped many to believe that premise.
Over the years Bob accomplished numerous tasks and challenges. Getting
a payloader out of a mud hole at Nash would not qualify as one of his
cleanest. Now that I think about it. Jack DeSautel didn't get out of
that one unscathed either.
~~ HAPPY ~ BIRTHDAY ~ BOB ~~
from Pat & Gary's entire gene pool.
