I believe it's fare to say that the benefit, held Thursday evening for
Henry Corneillie, was a success by anyones measure.
Even though the temperature on the sign of Choice Financial Bank
registered 6 degrees, and the wind was blowing strong enough to keep the
Stars and Strips standing straight out from the flag pole. Literally
hundreds of people attended the benefit dinner and bake sale at
Marketplace on 8th for the Corneillie family.
As Pat and I entered Marketplace we were greeted by Bill and Joyce
Kingsbury. I must admit I was impressed, not only because Bill and Joyce
were there greeting folks and thanking them for participating in the
benefit, but also because I recently become aware that the Kingsbury
family has been exceedingly generous to the Corneillie family, with
their time and resources, throughout Henry's illness.
We Thoroughly enjoyed our delicious turkey dinner in a room full of
friends and acquaintances. I was pleased to see so many Gazette Family
members there as well.
Thank you, everyone. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, and thanks
to everyone for showing the Corneillie Family that so many, really care.
I would like to leave the Corneillie Family with one final thought.

The price of gas dropped another dime in Grafton yesterday. The
numbers on the big signs say $1.88 today. That's pretty darn good, I
thought to myself, until I received the following note from Rick
Kettells. He wrote: >>>
Hi Gary,
I paid $1.69 for gas in Branson, MO.
yesterday. It amazes me the different prices that you see around the
country.
Blessings,
Rick <<<<
Thanks a million for caring and sharing Rick. If we could take a trip
to Branson, we could save 20 cents a gallon, and,... catch the Cristy in
The Morning show at the same time.

Last night, after Henry's Benefit Dinner, Pat and I drove through the
park. We were really surprised how many additional "new" displays that
were set up in just one day. It really is hard to say how many more will
be put out there, but it could be several I'm sure.

Diabetes is not a "modern" disease -- it was first recorded some 3500
years ago. The Papyrus notes of an Egyptian physician named Hesy-Ra
described a condition that resulted in the "passing of too much urine."

It continues to amaze me that the Washington politicians continue to
use the rising unemployment numbers as something we should be
exceedingly fearful of. YET, NO-ONE, not even our present
president-elect seems to want to recognized the fact that ten
million,... or more, folks in our country are here "illegally" and that
maybe,.... just maybe, those ten million plus folks "could" be
contributing to our nations rapidly rising unemployment rate.
Than again, maybe,... just maybe, those folks that are conveniently
ignoring those who violated our immigration laws to get here, are
planning on letting them replace the present UAW members....... Maybe.

Did you notice one politician that was complaining about the way the
presidents of the big three got to the meeting by suggesting they we
"frittering" away money, actually was wearing a carnation on his lapel?
What's that all about?
