September 18, 2008 - Thursday

Todays Gazette is being brought to you without any specific political
affiliation.
-----------------------
The current temperature is 64 degree.
Yesterdays H/L temperature was 73/41
Normal H/L temp for this date is 68/43
It was 91 degrees on this date in 1914
Most weather folks still agree that North Dakotans can continue to
expect winter weather for the next couple years,........ for certain.

It is my understanding that the new addition to Grafton's Unity
Hospital will be using Marvins windows. Grafton is very fortunate, not
only do we have a excellent small town medical facility, Marvins Windows
has a major processing facility here as well.

Rumor has it that Simonsons Subway Sandwich Shop is hoping to open
November 1. I'm guessing that to mean this coming November.

Diane and Rick Odegard have recently become brand new Grandparents. I
received the following note from "Gramma" Diane.
>>>> Good Morning Gary!!!
Just wanted to let you know that we are FINALLY Grandparents!!!!! Boy so
far it's been fun!!! Kendell Othelia Odegard arrived on September 15th
(a day after Mary Arnesen's --th date of birth) at 10:50 AM, weighing in
at 9lbs 5.9oz and 21 1/2" long! Now in fishermans' terms that would go
on the wall!!! I'm sure we will mount a picture or 2 of her on the
wall!!! Grandpa Rick is warming up to the idea that he is old enough to
actually be Grandpa and he and Kendall can be caught cuddling!!! It's
fun to see Matt (Kendall's daddy) take on the parenting role, He had his
first diaper duty and survived (BARELY). Here's hoping that we'll see
you once again at "The conference table" at ROCKY POINT!! A friend
indeed, Diane <<<<
Thanks a million for caring and sharing Diane, and CONGRATULATIONS from
our house to yours. I should worn you,.... hang on,.... it won't be long
and you'll be Great Grandparents.
P.S.
Thanks a million for the super pictures Diane. It certainly looks like
Rick will make a fantastic baby sitter.

It has been brought to my attention that Italian talk show hosts dress
significantly different than American talk show hosts.
Thanks Gay, for caring and sharing.

For some, unknown, reason our drive has started "attracting" cars that
don't belong on it. I'm not sure why, or even how it happened. My
biggest concern is that I "might" back into them while backing out of
the garage.
I do find it somewhat ironic, however, that the cars using our
driveway for parking could be parked in a parking lot designed
especially for them. As a matter of fact, that parking lot appears to
rarely even used.

I'm pleased to welcome Laura (LaBerge) Carroll to the Gazette family.
