L O C A L news & stuff,.. mostly stuff.
------------------------
The Henkels & McCoy pipeline company and the folks they employee
continues to be the main topic of conversation. Already it is easy to
see the impact their operation will have on our little community.
Watching there progression to this point has been fascinating to say
the least. The attention to detail is apparent in every aspect of their
operation.
The community of Grafton should consider itself extremely fortunate
that the Henkels & McCoy Corporation chose our town for a staging area.
At the present time, we must have several dozen of their
representatives living, working and "supporting" our community. Let us
hope "everyone" in the Grafton area extends the support, appreciation
and respect the members of the pipeline organization deserve.

I did receive the following note in time to share it prior to the
actual event. I apologize for the delay.
>>>> Michelle L. McCann received a Doctor of Medicine degree from The
University of North Dakota School of Medicine on Sunday May 11. She is
the daughter of Michael and Dr. La Vaun McCann. We are all very proud of
her. Frank and Linda McCann, grandparents.
<<<<
+++ Congratulations Dr. Michelle +++ Your accomplishments will not only
provide you with a lifetime of satisfaction. They will also make our
world, a much better place to live.
I had breakfast with grandpa Frank this morning, as a matter of fact, I
actually bought him breakfast this morning. And, I notice his sweater
had no buttons. I couldn't help but ask if that was because he had
"popped" them at the graduation ceremony. With a warm giant smile, Frank
replied. "No, but I sure could have."
I can only imagine how great grandpa Jack Loos would have described the
graduation ceremony while cutting new lights for our greenhouse.

No matter how you cut the cake, if it contains a hundred candles, you
have to be very careful where you cut the first piece. BettyLou shared
the following with us >>>>
Hi Gary, I would like to thank everyone who sent cards and/or
attended the open house for our mom last Sunday.
Mom, Ethel Brekke, celebrated her 100th birthday. It was a very
nice fun party and she was surrounded by so many family and friends.
Mom looks Great and does very well.
Thanks BettyLou Brekke Davis <<<
Thanks a million for caring and sharing BettyLou and Congratulations to
you Ethel, You have joined the distinguished register of Grafton
Centenarians.

It's been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe so...
However, there isn't enough words in the English language to describe
John Aasand and Gunner running around Branson Missouri.
Or so it seems to me.
----------------------------
I certainly don't have a answer to the following note. I am certain,
however, that there are folks in the Gazette family tree that can. The
note. >>>
I wonder how much of an effort it would take to raise enough money to
re-open the outdoor theater? Do you think there is any hope for this to
happen? I had some pretty good times out there as a youngster and it
would be fun to see it open again. What do you think about this? <<<
Well my fine young man. I only have two comments in that regard.
First, I think it would be fantastic for Grafton to have a new outdoor
theater. SECOND, would you want your children doing what you did when
you attended it?
P.S.
I'll bet Tom & Tammy would be able to shed some light on this one.

Dear Gary . . . having a warm fuzzy moment reading your entries . . . can you and or your readers refresh my memory in regards to a young adult that was killed in an accident (bicycle/car) in the early 50's by the name of Jimmy Jorandby???
KEEPING IT GOING!!!

Where is walmart? It would be great
for our economy. We would get shoppers from the north, east, west.
Most of the stores in town are owners from out of town
