Todays Gazette is being brought to you by Small Town USA,... use'm or
lose'm.
-----------------------
The current temperature is 37.
Yesterdays H/L temperature was 69/33
Normal H/L temp for this date is 70/43
It was 97 degrees on this date in 1987

Question of the day;
Is it fair, or even reasonable, to expect cash paying customers to walk
a greater distance to patronize a business, than the people being paid
to operate that enterprise?
++++
By all sights, sounds or manner of measure. Our little community is
starting to get busy.
++++
I noticed yesterday that a few pipeline units have moved into Marlys &
Dick Andersons former trailer court on the east edge of town. One of
those units, looks like it could belong to someone like Willy Nelson.
------------------------
I haven't heard from Tom or Tammy on the ramifications of resurrecting
the outdoor theater, yet. Ironically, the following note came in
yesterday on the topic of a outdoor movie theater as well. Phil
wrote. >>>
It's kind of ironic that you mentioned the outdoor theatre today in
the Gazette. I was thinking the same thing as I drove to work this
morning and looked at the screen in the background and was wondering if
all of the equipment is still in the buildings out there.
Phil <<< Thanks a million for caring and sharing Phil. As far as I know,
the only operational outdoor movie theater left in this whole part of
the country is over by Warren Minnesota.

===== CONGRATULATIONS =====
~~~~~~~~ Grafton's ~~~~~~~~~
===== Country Smokehouse =====
1st Year Anniversary, May 17th featuring a super Brat Cookout -- 11
a.m. to 2 p.m -- (weather permitting) -- Many Drawings for prizes and
specials throughout the store. Check out the Jerky selection too.
The Gillespie's won't be there, however, you can bet the best rump
roast you've ever eaten, their memory will be.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
It looks like the 17th will be a fantastic day to come to Grafton. If
your vehicle needs a washing come to town early and stop by Valley Brake
Service and the super efficient Mennonite Youth Group will clean it up
squeaky clean. While they're doing the washing, you can partake in their
fantastic Hamburger Fry & Bake Sale.
The benefit is for a 17 year old paralyzed member of their group to
help defray costs of rehabilitation to help the young man walk again.
Whenever our community needs help, the Mennonite Community is always
there, in full force, to help. This benefit affords our community a rare
opportunity to reciprocate. They will be washing my car sometime
Saturday between 10 and 3. That's for certain!!!!
~~~~
If your still hungry, after you have a burger and the car washed. Stop
over at Country Smokehouse and say HELLO. Maybe you could try one of
their fabulous (cooked to perfection) Brats. Then take a look around,
and, don't forget to sign up for the drawings.
~~~~
If you have room for a super cup of coffee and a snack. Stop in the
Daily Grind on east fifth street and say hello to the New Owner. I
betting you'll enjoy Janelle's unique little coffee cove and will return
there again, real soon.
~~~~
Now then, assuming you've aleady been in town most of the day anyway.
Why not plan to stop by POLLY'S LOUNGE and help them celebrate their
75th year in the Grafton business district.
Pipeliners are welcome (of course they're welcome all over town) and
the music will be provided by ICEBREAKER.
++++
Of course May 17th Generations (in the former Eagles building) will
also have live music and you can dance to DELIVERANCE til your shoes
fall off,... or 1 am whichever comes first.
++++
Holy Smokes, I almost forgot. While you're in town, don't forget to
stop by The Extra End and check out their new fenced in back lot. If the
weather is right, you can have a cool one, under the sun.
I'm not sure how many pools have been started, -- on how long before
the fence gets hit -- although I think I'm on a couple of them. I'm also
betting EE's outdoor patio idea will catch on all over town.
