From the street, it appears as though the former Getz Drug Store
building on Hill Avenue is being returned to a temporary sailboat fuel
storage facility once again.
Workers could be seen removing and loading the robots, designed to fill
prescription drugs, into a truck earlier this week. The automated drug
packing equipment was installed in the former Getz Drug building more
than a year ago. Unfortunately the equipment has never been used.
I can only hope that a real serious evaluation of the former Getz Drug
building, in it's present configuration, and the adjoining former Walsh
County Bank building, in it's repulsive state of repair, is completed
before sending addition good dollars after bad.

~~~~~ SATURDAY MORNING ~~~~~
The Grafton Wrestling program is having a Sausage, Egg and Pancake
Breakfast fundraiser this Saturday, January 10, 2009, in the Century
Elementary Lunchroom. The event takes place from 7am-10am and the
cost is $5 for adults and $3 for school age children. Preschool and
under are free. This is the Wrestling programs 4th year and the
athletes and coaches have put in a lot of hard work over the past 4
years to develop the program. There are a lot of outstanding young
wrestlers on our team and work hard to represent our community
positively. It is hoped the community will support the wrestling
program by coming out for a great pancake breakfast Saturday morning.
Additionally, community members can cheer on some of our local JV
wrestlers at the JV tournament that will be held in the High School Gym
following the pancake breakfast.

Where would I send a check to the wrestling program? I guess I could
send it to you but who do I make the check out to?

guessing the most important part is to make the check out to the Grafton
Wrestling Program. It should get to them by mailing the check c/o the
Grafton High School, OR, if you would like, you can send it to me and I
will get it to Gene or Rob,..... faster than they can put a halfnelson
on a duck.
