Yesterdays reported rain amounts around the area varied from "just over
an inch" to "I'll bet we got close to four inches". The battery
operated, official Gazette, rain gauge recorded 1.89 inches in the past
twenty four hours. John Gudajtes reported he had 1.8 inches at his ranch
west of Warsaw by 10:30 yesterday, and, he said it was still raining.
I'd be surprised if he (John) isn't already building a ark to haul in
his beets this fall.
Several intersections around town were flooded. The one near our house
was, almost, deep enough to float The Walleye combine.
The news on two different TV stations reported yesterdays rain as the
proverbial "million dollar rain". It's obvious that those folks haven't
checked the price of corn and potatoes lately. And, even more obvious,
they haven't taken the last fifty years worth of inflation into account
either.

It is my understanding that Anette Escobar-Skaro, Graftons Chamber
Office Director, has decided to leave the chamber for other employment.
I really hope my information is incorrect, unfortunately, I'm afraid it
is.

It's been said that you can tell the word "committee" was formulated by
a large group of individuals that couldn't agree on the spelling of a
shorter version. That may be so. On the other hand, It might also be
said that a "committee" regardless of it's spelling. Can negate the
efforts of a dictator. Or so it seems to me.

out.
Ironic: The price of gas coming down at the same time we have learned
to accept higher prices.
Funny: We are still trying to justify NOT protecting our community
from the ravages of a flood that eventually WILL destroy it.
